Project: Rhosmenteil Games

In my spare time, I taught myself the Phaser JavaScript framework to build a collection of interactive game prototypes, replicating concepts from classic video games and using tutorials to fill in knowledge gaps. Over the course of my learning, I tackled challenges such as responding to user input, collision detection, and menu-based state management, iterating on each prototype to develop new features to expand my skills.
I structured my learning around incremental progress, using each game as a means to apply new knowledge rather than setting a long-term goal of a finished product. In hindsight, I would have documented my process and challenges to create tutorials that could help others navigate similar obstacles and solidify my own learning.
Additionally, I self-hosted these game on my own website, so that anyone can try out these prototypes. Visit Rhosmenteil Games 🔗 to try these yourself!
This project demonstrated my ability to independently explore new areas of software development, strengthen my problem-solving skills, and expanded my versatility as a developer. (I even dabbled in creating my own graphical assets... demonstrating that my expertise is in development.)
